OceanView was founded and is locally owned by Maine resident John Wasileski, who is recognized as the pre-eminent originator of active lifestyle and retirement communities in the state. He is a visionary who has exhibited an extraordinary commitment to preserve and protect the environment. He has created environmentally responsible, cutting-edge communities that combine nature, recreation, energy efficiency and carefree living. It’s this type of leadership that has earned him the Governor’s Award for Business Excellence.

Planning for OceanView began in the mid-1980’s with our first pioneer residents moving into their apartments and cottages in 1986. John has been involved in the day-to-day operations ever since, both at OceanView at Falmouth and at our sister communities, The Highlands of Topsham and Highland Green, and knows each resident by name.  As the demand for additional levels of care and unique home styles rose, OceanView grew to include Falmouth House which offers assisted living services, as well as cottages and homes of all sizes. We are currently embarking on an expansion of the Main Lodge which involves renovating and building 27 apartments. We also look forward to a Falmouth House expansion, including a memory care wing, in 2012.
