Main Lodge Expansion: We Have Our Team!

Groundbreaking

FALMOUTH, ME –
OceanView is pleased to announce that they have selected locally owned and operated Landry French Construction Co. as the general contractor for the Main Lodge Expansion Project. Landry French Construction is a newly-formed partnership between Kevin French and Denis Landry, both veteran contractors with over fifty years combined experience in the area. Their expertise, combined with a drive to deliver superior customer service, respect for their clients and exceptional quality in their work align well with OceanView’s own plans for the Expansion.

Sales and Marketing Manager, Gloria Walker explained, “These large, luxury apartments will be similar in size, style and services to our existing Hilltop Lodge apartments which have been in high demand. The new Main Lodge Expansion apartments will be added to the ends of the southern and eastern wings of the Main Lodge, giving many of them beautiful views of Casco Bay and Portland. They will also have balconies or patios, gas fireplaces and central air conditioning and an optional meal plan. As always with new construction at OceanView, the opportunity for future residents to customize the layout and decor of their new home is available.”

In addition to new apartments, John Wasileski is also utilizing the construction to enhance the overall community by renovating and enlarging the existing library to more than double its current size. “We will also be adding a cafe and pub for the enjoyment of all of our residents here at OceanView,” said Mr. Wasileski. “Whenever we expand the number of homes within our community, we always look at ways to improve the campus as a whole for the entire resident population. This not only keeps our residents happy by continuing to update our services and amenities, but keeps our community competitive and on the cutting edge as well.”

With over 85% of the apartments pre-sold, the Main Lodge Expansion is now being pre-marketed with a 5% pre-construction discount available. The project is slated to begin in the first weeks of 2011 with apartments completed in the fall of 2011. Please contact us at OceanView via email, phone or mail for further information and prices.

OceanView Residents Send Boxes to Soldiers in Afghanistan

SoldierFALMOUTH, ME – When residents at OceanView at Falmouth Retirement Community discovered that one of their helpful maintenance techs, Jeff Thomas, had a son, Mike, who was currently serving in Afghanistan, they launched into action without thinking twice. Collaborating with management at OceanView, who agreed to cover the postage for whatever the residents could collect, Arlene Clifford, a long-time OceanView resident, contacted Mike and his Army Infantry unit directly to see how she could help.

“We put together a list of needed items, and then shared it with the community,” says Arlene. “By the time two weeks of collecting were up, we were stunned.”

The residents filled sixteen boxes with pencils and pens, snacks and food, tissues, disinfectant gel, magazines, puzzle books, letters and notecards for the soldiers so far from home, and much, much more. OceanView mailed the boxes on November 24th and Mike received them on December 3rd. In an email, Mike said they received enough pens and candy to keep all the little children in the town happy, and that each soldier found something in the boxes they personally NEEDED! In the same shipment was a small artificial tree sent by one of the soldier’s parents so they had a big old fashioned party!
