Construction Update

Blueberry Commons

This bird’s eye view of Blueberry Commons shows the amazing progress being made on the project. It also lets you see exactly how the connectors will work. Seen here is the connector between Building 14 (to the far left) and Building 16 (far right). In the center background of the photo is Building 12, before the roof went on!

From the rooftop of Hilltop Lodge, this photo shows the side of Building 14 and the solar panels on the roof that are being used throughout Blueberry Commons (and our other main buildings including Hilltop Lodge, the Main Lodge Expansion, Falmouth House and the pool) for hot water.

Legacy Memory Care

Legacy Memory Care is also making great progress toward our summer, 2014 opening! If you are thinking about one of the 24 apartments in this new, compassionate care residence for someone you love, please don’t wait. Reservations are now being taken!

Construction Updates

Blueberry Commons

Wow–how our rooftop view from Hilltop Lodge has changed! The layout of all three Blueberry Commons buildings AND the first connector are fully visible here, showing exactly how easily residents will be able to access the Lodge buildings from their new homes at Blueberry Commons!

Residents will have the benefit of driving right underground to their parking space and post office box, before heading up the elevators to their new homes in Buildings 12 & 16!

Pool Remodel

Our 3-season heated outdoor pool has been enlarged and “endless” swimming jets added, along with a Jacuzzi hot tub. Next step: the retractable glass cover which will allow for it to become a 4-season indoor pool! Watch for photos in our coming e-News!

Legacy Memory Care

Legacy Memory Care, located behind Lunt School on Lunt Road, is moving right along, with foundations poured and walls going up. We’re on target for a Summer, 2014 opening!

Blueberry Commons AND Legacy Memory Care

Blueberry Commons Update 1

Blueberry Commons, as seen from this aerial photograph, shows exactly how beautifully the buildings are coming along! Please notice the white cement foundation for the connector between the front, most complete building (#14) and Hilltop Lodge (on the bottom right). The foundation is only partially completed to building #16 (back right). Soon, these temperature controlled walkways will connect all three buildings, allowing indoor access between Blueberry Commons and our Lodge buildings!

Legacy Memory Care Groundbreaking

Legacy Memory Care Groundbreaking

The second phase of the Falmouth School Redevelopment Project is Legacy Memory Care. Over 40 people attended the September 18th Groundbreaking Ceremony, including bankers, architects, engineers, OceanView staff and residents, and Senator Angus King’s senior aid, Gail Kezer.

This five-million dollar project is all designed, financed and built by Maine companies – local banks, local contractors, local vendors, and a local development and management company, providing a boost to Maine’s economy.

OceanView Celebrates 27 Years!

OceanView took a trip to the Wild West
to celebrate our 27th Anniversary!

Our Main Lodge was decorated with barn boards, saddles, pumpkins, boot-shaped and cow-print balloons. “Wanted” posters throughout the building depicted a hooligan who looked suspiciously like one of our residents! There was also a dance floor, saloon, jail and even Mr. John Wayne came!

Some folks came all dressed in the spirit of the wild west, and for those who didn’t, there were plenty of bandanas and hats to go around!

The whimsy didn’t stop at the decorations and clothes. The beverages, appetizers, dinner entrees and desserts all were given a western flair; thanks to our always creative team of chefs!

Mr. John Wayne, though quiet and a little stiff, kindly posed for photos with fans.

Even the OceanView staff couldn’t resist getting into the part!

Thank you to all of our wonderful residents for making these past 27 years so incredible!

Blueberry Commons Construction Update

This rooftop view from Hilltop Lodge shows all three buildings at Blueberry Commons, with just the stairwells of Building 12 showing in the background. The construction team is right on schedule and making great progress!

Soon the connector will be constructed from Building 14 (above) to Hilltop Lodge and we will have a real sense of the scope of this exciting new addition.

The large underground parking garage sits below both Buildings 12 and 16 and will allow every apartment in those buildings to have a covered parking space below. Building 14 has attached garage parking as well!

Blueberry Commons Construction Update

Blueberry Commons

Blueberry Commons is right on schedule for completion this spring! Building #14, our 3-story building at Blueberry Commons, as seen from two different sides, now has a roof! Windows will be going in this week and the building will be ready for interior work shortly!

Blueberry Commons

In this photo, you can see Building 14 to the left and Hilltop Lodge to the right. The temperature controlled, atrium style connector will pass from one to the other, attaching these two buildings, so residents can go from their home to any fitness classes, movies or dining options without going outside! The connector will also project straight back to Building 16 in the distance.

Our rooftop views give a good feeling for the overall progress of Building 14 to the left and Building 16 to the right through the trees. Building 12 is in the center background and will be the last of the three to be completed in May, 2014. We can’t wait!
